The situation in which the ink sublimation printer generates a large amount of waste ink during the printing process is mainly concentrated on an inkjet printer using a split design. The main reason is that the printer uses a split structure. Since only the ink cartridge needs to be replaced, the joint between the print head and the ink cartridge is easy to enter the air, and the air entering from the print head can easily “support” the hole which is thinner than the hair thread, so that the ink cannot be unblocked, resulting in printing. Broken line phenomenon. Printing after a broken line will cause the text to be missing, the picture to have horizontal stripes and severe white lines. At the same time, in order to meet the needs of high-speed printing, the current inks are all fast-drying type. The long-term use of the ink sublimation printer and the drying of the air, etc., cause the residual ink on the nozzle to condense and cause the disconnection in the printing.
In order to solve problems such as print breaks and unclear writing, all sublimation inkjet printers are equipped with a hardware system for ink cleaning and nozzle maintenance on the far right side of the machine. The inside of the printer is equipped with a rubber-made rubber scraper, which scrapes off the dirt attached to the nozzle surface with a rubber scraper. At the same time, after the printer stops printing, the ink cart automatically returns to the “nozzle protection seat”, and the sealing function of the “nozzle protection seat” is used to implement a short-term sealing to prevent the ink dryness of the nozzle from clogging the print head.
For split-type models that are prone to wire breakage, manufacturers have adopted a more comprehensive printhead cleaning and dredging system. That is, under the “nozzle protection seat”, there is a pump accessory for cleaning the print head. By periodically extracting the ink in the ink cartridge, each ink passes through the nozzle hole, and finally the nozzle is sprayed out to achieve the purpose of unblocking the pipeline. These inks of various colors ejected from the nozzles are finally mixed together to become waste ink. This is the whole process of cleaning the print head, which many people refer to as “shampoo”. The waste ink generated by the “shampoo” has to be stored in a place, so the manufacturer set up a separate plate in the lower part of the wide format sublimation printer, called the waste ink tank (also called waste ink tray). The waste ink of the “shamp” is directly piped into the waste ink tank below the printer.
The integrated sublimation printer replaces the ink cartridge and replaces the nozzle, so there is no pump attachment and there is no ink cleaning. It produces very little waste ink. The waste ink tank is under the “nozzle protection seat”. The residual ink scraped by the rubber scraper in the waste ink tank will be tied into the waste ink tank over time. The split type waste ink is large in volume, and the volume of the waste ink tank is also large. At the same time, a cotton felt is placed in the waste ink tank to adsorb the waste ink.
